iMac G3 (1998)

iMac G3

Announced on May 6, 1998, the iMac was the computer that really put Apple back on the map. The iMac was most notable for its unusual design aesthetics that literally broke the mold at a time when most computers were plain, beige boxes (Jony Ive). The original iMac shipped with Mac OS 8.1 and was built for the Internet. I picked up this Revision B iMac at a local Goodwill for just $16.44 in 2010! It's almost identical to the original iMac, but the Revision B model included the more powerful ATI Rage Pro graphics chip, more graphics memory, and shipped with Mac OS 8.5.
